Overview
Join our manufacturing team as a Beginner CNC Operator and kickstart your career in precision machining! In this dynamic role, you'll gain hands-on experience operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication equipment. You'll work closely with experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and quality control. Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines, including milling machines and lathes, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Learn to program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and understand basic CNC programming principles
- Perform routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to ensure parts meet specifications
- Support the loading and unloading of materials using forklifts and handle materials safely within the manufacturing facility
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, tools, and equipment to promote a safe working environment
- Follow safety protocols related to machinery operation, tooling handling, and materials management
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, and quality assurance processes
Skills
- Basic understanding of CNC machinery operation, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and stamping presses
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings
- Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks for part design and modifications
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately
- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on manufacturing processes like machining, fabrication, welding, and tooling setup
- Experience or familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Fanuc controls or similar systems is a plus
- Strong basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations in machining tasks
- Warehouse experience or materials handling skills are advantageous for efficient workflow management
- Willingness to learn new skills related to CAM programming, press brake operations, or other fabrication techniques
