Educational Requirements :
- High school degree required
- AA degree preferred
Qualifications and Experience:
- Insurance verification and authorization experience a plus.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and physicians
- Maintain quality control standards
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 coding
- Working knowledge of managed care
- Computer literate, with keyboard skills
- Good communication skills
- Neat, professional appearance
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Process incoming medical records for review
- Process corporate mail
- Assist with minor accounting
- Assist with maintaining communication between administration and department managers
- Sample medications; appropriateness, organization and re-stocking
- Oversees appointment bookings and ensures emergency situations are scheduled appropriately. Maintains timely flow of patients
- Telephone triages, responds to and refers incoming telephone calls according to office protocol
- Performs patient education when appropriate
