Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, ensuring the comfort of pets, and maintaining a clean and organized environment in the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess relevant skills in veterinary practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Provide excellent pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
- Assist in animal catheterization and other critical care procedures.
- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately in communication with staff and clients.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments to ensure their safety and the safety of staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas.
- Provide compassionate support to pet owners during their visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician is required.
- Hardworking personality with an eagerness to learn.
- Strong understanding of animal care principles and practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to animal health.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus.
- Ability to handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $14.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 44.0 per week

License/Certification:
