WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Researches and analyzes data needed for reimbursement as well as identify documentation deficiencies which are then reported back to provider for improvement. The Coder II serves as a resource and subject matter expert to their assigned specialty/client. They will review and verify documentation supports diagnosis, procedures and treatment results and assign codes for reimbursement, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing payer driven guidelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews physician documentation to ensure accurate coding of all office and surgical procedures.
- Enters charges timely and accurately.
- Runs and works daily reports.
- Works with physicians, providing coding guidance.
- Research coding requirements for new and existing office services and procedures.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree preferred. Appropriate education may be substituted for one year of coding experience.
Experience: 2-3 years of coding experience in a health care organization required. Skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and running calculations. Urology Coding Experience Preferred.
Licensure/Credentials: CPC certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and running calculations Excellent customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills required. Business telephone skills and ability to answer and transfer calls in a professional and timely manner. Computing skills, excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task and set and meet priorities. Able to provide co-workers, patients, doctors, and management with responses in a positive, supportive, and cooperative manner. Detail-oriented and good follow-through skills. Able to accommodate flexible work hours to meet the needs of the business.

Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour.
