We are seeking an organized and detail oriented Parts Manager who enjoys solving problems and considers themselves an expert in their field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing parts inventory, coordinating purchasing, and ensuring the seamless flow of diesel and automotive parts within our shop. This role requires strong knowledge of inventory control, vendor management, and customer service to support our repair operations. The Parts Manager will play a critical role in keeping the shop running efficiently by leveraging expertise in parts sourcing, ordering, and vendor relationships.

Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels using Tekmetric and order management software.
- Source parts daily through OEC RepairLink, PartsTech, and a wide network of vendors, negotiating pricing and ensuring timely delivery.
- Oversee purchasing processes including ordering, stocking decisions, and sourcing of OEM, aftermarket, and upgraded parts.
- Utilize diesel and automotive mechanical knowledge to verify part specifications and compatibility.
- Handle shipping & receiving, inventory control, and organization of parts storage, including the shop's mezzanine inventory area.
- Operate a forklift as needed for moving, loading, and unloading pallets.
- Manage returns, cores, and warranty parts to keep credits and claims current.
- Perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy across roughly $120K of on-hand inventory.
- Maintain detailed records of purchasing activity, inventory transactions, and vendor
- communications using Tekmetric.
- Contribute to excellent customer service by assisting service advisors, technicians, and customers with parts inquiries and order status.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all shop and equipment operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in parts management, purchasing, or inventory control within an automotive or diesel repair environment.
- Familiarity with shop management systems such as Tekmetric and parts ordering platforms such as OEC RepairLink and PartsTech (or similar) used for order processing and inventory management.
- Experience working with OEM, aftermarket, and upgraded parts is required.
- Knowledge of diesel diagnostics, automotive systems, or heavy-duty applications is advantageous.
- Prior parts counter, shipping & receiving, or dealership parts department experience is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to diesel or automotive service is a plus.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and safely move parts throughout the shop, including to and from mezzanine storage.
