Maintenance Technician – Lancaster Region
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a fast-growing self-storage company with locations across Ohio. We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician for the South Region, which will include sites within 45 minutes of Lancaster (so travel is part of the position but locations are within 45 minutes of Lancaster, will probably be about 3-5 hrs of travel per week).
This role is hands-on, independent, and perfect for someone who takes pride in keeping properties clean, safe, and running smoothly. You’ll manage weekly facility routes, complete maintenance tasks, and handle on-site issues with professionalism and problem-solving grit.
This is a flexible position (20–30 hours per week including travel), but it is accountability-based. You set your schedule — as long as the work is done and properties meet our standard.
This position will pay $20-$30 per hr, depending on skillset.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visit every assigned location weekly. Complete maintenance tickets Perform weekly property audits and upload photos Keep facilities clean, safe, and operational at all times Identify and repair basic issues (doors, springs, latches, leaks) Troubleshoot gate and camera issues before escalation Clean out units and prepare them for new renters Spray weeds, cut grass at designated properties, trim as needed Address roof leaks (mostly metal roofs—silicone patches) Remove trash and debris Perform light repairs inside units (bulbs, insulation, painting) Seasonal tasks (snow removal is a plus if you’re able, leaf blowing, ice melting)
Required:
- Reliable, responsible, consistent work ethic Mechanically inclined (basic repairs, adjustments, troubleshooting), the more inclined - the better Ability to work outdoors year-round Ability to lift 50 lbs Smartphone skills (photos, simple apps, messages) Reliable vehicle capable of carrying a push mower and tools Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive up to 1 hour
- Communication is very important within our company and a lot of the communication happens through our software. This is a very important piece of the position, which means you need to have a "smart phone" at the least and a laptop is a bonus.
Preferred:
- Experience in maintenance, roofing, electrical, or construction is ideal. Ability to work on gate access controls and/or POE cameras is a plus. Comfortable using power tools, ladders, and troubleshooting systems
