Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Practitioner/Dispensing Nurse to join our healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care during morning hours. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive assessments, administer treatments, and support patients across diverse settings. Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and regulatory guidelines.
- Administer injections, including Botox, dermal fillers, and other esthetic laser treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, and sonography.
- Manage acute pain cases, assist with triage in urgent care settings, and coordinate follow-up care for complex cases.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals across specialties including internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, gastroenterology, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine to optimize patient outcomes.
- See patients regularly for medical visits and prescribe methadone, suboxone, or vivitrol.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner or Dispensing Nurse in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or urgent care environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation.
- Strong background in clinical areas including critical care (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with advanced procedures like CPT coding for billing purposes and ICD coding for diagnoses.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (children/toddlers), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), and individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with skills in medical records management and specimen processing.
- Additional qualifications include telehealth experience, acute care experience, nursing home or assisted living experience, and familiarity with healthcare diagnosis and medication administration protocols.
