Position Summary
The Flowback Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all shop operations related to flowback equipment, including maintenance, repairs, inventory control, equipment readiness, personnel management, and safety compliance. This position ensures all flowback equipment is properly inspected, repaired, tested, and prepared for field deployment while maintaining .high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage daily shop operations and workflow.
- Schedule and prioritize equipment repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds.
- Ensure flowback equipment is inspected, serviced, and ready for field deployment.
- Coordinate with operations and field personnel regarding equipment requirements and availability.
- Monitor equipment utilization and shop productivity.
Personnel Management
- Supervise Recert & Rental managers, shop technicians, valve rebuilders, mechanics, welders, and support personnel.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate shop employees.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control
- Oversee inspection, repair, rebuilding, and testing of:
- Plug valves
- Chokes
- Flowback iron
- Sand traps
- Manifolds
- Pressure control equipment
- Ensure all repairs meet company and customer specifications.
- Verify documentation of inspections, repairs, and pressure testing.
- Implement quality assurance programs to reduce equipment failures.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.
- Manage equipment tracking and asset control systems.
- Coordinate purchasing requirements with procurement personnel.
- Monitor inventory levels to minimize downtime and shortages.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and customer standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and shop inspections.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
Customer & Vendor Relations
- Coordinate equipment needs with customers and field operations teams.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source parts and services.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and support timely equipment delivery.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain repair records, maintenance logs, and testing documentation.
- Prepare reports on equipment status, shop productivity, and inventory.
- Assist with budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
- Track labor hours and shop expenses.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification, trade school training, or equivalent industry experience preferred.
Experience
- S+ years of flowback, well testing, pressure control, or oilfield service experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of flowback equipment maintenance and repair procedures.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring flowback equipment is maintained to the highest standards, supporting safe and efficient field operations while meeting customer expectations.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
