Surgical (RN)
Job Summary:
Provides post-operative care for the complex surgical population. Assesses and intervenes appropriately to ensure positive outcomes during the post-operative phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Monitors and cares for new tracheostomies.
- Provide post-operative care, wound care, and pain management.
- Administer medications and treatments, observing for reactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with physicians and care teams.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- RN license in state of assignment.
- BLS (AHA) required.
- Experience in medical-surgical units preferred.
- Strong clinical, assessment, and communication skills.
Work Environment & Demands:
- Hospital settings (Med-Surg units, post-op recovery, step-down).
- Rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays.
- Physical demands include standing, lifting patients/equipment, and stress management.
