Amplify Cafe is a welcoming, vibrant coffee shop, located within Lakeside Music in the heart of downtown Port Washington.
We are a small family-owned business, and most of our employees stick with us for quite some time. We have a current opening for a part-time EXPERIENCED BARISTA, AGED 18+, to join our team. We have been experiencing continual growth, and need to grow our team, as we also increase our vegan/vegetarian food offerings. We are open 6am - 6pm daily, and to be considered for the position, you must be available to work during the week, as well as weekends, for an average of four shifts per week. To be considered for the position, the barista must have a positive work history, with at least six months of continual experience at a fast-paced coffee shop, making consistent drinks and steaming milks to the company's specifications.
We are not your average coffee shop. If you are a barista who wants to work in a fun environment, we may be the place for you! We are also a full-line music store, and attract the coolest of customers. Your daily view will be of guitars, ukuleles, and other fun goods, rather than drab corporate art. You get to dress like yourself, rather than wearing a corporate logo. We are very open in our communication and expectations, and our employees love working here because of it!
If you have a passion for making delicious drinks, a positive attitude, and a knack for customer service, we may be a good fit! We serve all of your standard coffee shop drinks (espresso drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies, etc.), as well as bubble teas and smoothie bowls. We are well-known for our plant-based bakery, are expanding our kitchen to offer vegan/vegetarian breakfast and lunch items.
An Amplify Cafe barista is responsible for all of the typical barista responsibilities - taking orders, making drinks, cleaning/organizing, stocking, kitchen prep, retail sales, etc. You must have a strong knowledge base of coffee drinks, as well as the want to continually learn. A successful team member must be able to multitask and hustle in a sometimes fast-paced environment, be motivated and have the ability to stay on task, while also maintaining a clean and organized workspace, following health and safety regulations. A qualified applicant must be able to work well independently, as well as with others.

All barista positions earn wages and tips, with most averaging $15 per hour during the slow times, and $20-$25+ per hour during peak times.
