About Casita Home Builders
At Casita, we don't just build small homes — we build community. We're a custom small home, and ADU builder based in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, backed by 20+ years of home-contracting experience. We design and build functional, elegant little spaces that help people simplify their lives and make room for what matters most — whether that's a home office, a spot for the grandparents, a rental, or a place for the family to grow.
We're big believers in the potential of small spaces, quality craftsmanship, and using the best materials and techniques. If the idea of finishing out beautiful, detail-rich homes (and not repetitive, cookie-cutter work) gets you excited, keep reading.
The Role
This is a hybrid role — the "Foreman" side and the "Working" side are both in the job title for a reason. We need a working lead: someone who can read blueprints, run quality control on trades, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with inspectors, AND who still happily straps on a tool belt to personally perform carpentry, punch lists, and repairs. Translation: you lead the crew from the front, not from a clipboard.
You'll run day-to-day field operations on our custom small homes and ADUs — setting the pace, keeping quality and safety high, coordinating subs, and jumping in with your own hands whenever the build needs it. Think of it as the best of both worlds: the leadership of a foreman with the satisfaction of actually building things.
What You'll Do, Keep things moving
Lead the build:
- Facilitate daily field operations on assigned custom home / ADU projects from layout through finishing touches.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specs; lay out work and sequence the build efficiently.
- Direct, coordinate, and quality-check subcontractors (framing, MEP, drywall, finish) and hold them to Casita's standards.
- Stand with inspectors through rough, framing, and final inspections; walk the site and resolve flagged items.
- Enforce jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization — a tidy site is a fast site.
- Keep the project lead / office informed on progress, delays, and any issues that affect schedule or budget.
Work the build:
- Personally perform carpentry and finish work — framing, trim, doors, hardware, cabinetry, siding, drywall touch-ups, and punch-list repairs.
- Perform work consistent with residential building standards and Casita's quality expectations; flag items that require licensed trades or code review.
- Lead by example on craftsmanship — the crew will match whatever standard you set.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of residential construction, carpentry, or remodeling experience, with real time spent as a lead or foreman.
- Ability to read blueprints and translate plans into a build sequence.
- Working knowledge of residential building standards and the major trades (framing, siding, MEP, drywall, finish).
- Strong finish carpentry skills — you take pride in tight miters and clean reveals.
- Comfortable running a crew and coordinating subs, but just as comfortable swinging a hammer yourself.
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
- Own a solid set of hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, kneel, stand, and work in active construction environments in all seasons.
Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points)
- Previously owned or operated your own LLC / trade business? That's a big plus. It usually means you already understand schedules, customers, budgets, and doing the job right the first time — and we'll reward that experience accordingly.
- Experience in custom home building, ADUs, or tiny/small home construction.
- Strong finish carpentry or cabinetry skills.
- Familiarity with punch list / field reporting apps and scheduling software like Buildertrend.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus on our job sites.
Pay & Perks
$32 – $42 / hour based on experience and skill level — top of range reserved for proven lead carpenters / foremen, strong independent operators, and candidates with prior trade-business / LLC ownership.
Incentives and perks (eligible based on role and tenure; final package confirmed during hiring) may include:
- Performance / project completion bonus — get rewarded for delivering homes on time and to standard.
- Year-end bonus tied to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Tool allowance for growing your kit.
- Mileage / fuel reimbursement for travel between job sites.
- Paid holidays and PTO.
- Overtime opportunities.
- Referral bonus.
A clear growth path — strong working foremen can grow into superintendent / project-management-track roles as we scale.
A team that values craftsmanship and won't ask you to cut corners to hit a number.
