Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our residents. In this role, you will facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory care challenges. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and health conditions
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and engagement during events
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support memory care and dementia needs
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events throughout the week
- Foster social interaction among residents by encouraging participation and facilitating group activities
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation, preferences, and feedback to tailor future programming
- Support residents in aging issues counseling by providing emotional encouragement and companionship during activities
Requirements
- Experience in recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Prior experience in long-term care or home & community care settings is highly desirable
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors through engaging programming

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
