Position Description: Position Summary:
The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of all public spaces throughout the hotel. This position plays a critical role in creating an exceptional guest experience by ensuring all guest-facing and back-of-house areas are clean, safe, well-stocked, and maintained according to Marriott brand standards.
Essential Job Functions:Clean and maintain all public areas, including:
Lobby and front entrance
Public restrooms
Corridors and elevators
Meeting and event spaces
Fitness center and pool areas
Concierge Lounge
Restaurant and bar areas
Administrative offices and employee areas
Back-of-house corridors and service areas
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture, clean glass surfaces, and polish fixtures.
Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the property.
Replenish restroom supplies, including soap, paper products, and sanitizing materials.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged furniture or equipment promptly to Engineering or management.
Set up and break down meeting rooms and public spaces as directed.
Assist guests with requests in a friendly and professional manner.
Maintain housekeeping storage rooms, closets, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
Follow proper chemical handling procedures and safety guidelines.
Ensure all assigned areas meet Marriott cleanliness and presentation standards.
Support special projects, deep cleaning assignments, and seasonal cleaning initiatives.
Comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
Prior hotel experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Excellent guest service and communication skills.
Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently bend, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals.
Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.
