Competitive Gymnastics Coach (Part-Time)

We're currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Competitive Gymnastics Coach to join our team at our Bok location (1900 S. 8th Street, Philadelphia). This role will primarily coach our USAG Xcel Team (Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels) while supporting a positive, athlete-centered environment that encourages growth both in and out of the gym.

Position Details
Location: Bok Building – South Philadelphia
Schedule: 5–30 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling based on current programming and availability
- Weekday daytime, afternoon, evening, and weekend opportunities available
- Travel required for approximately 4–6 competitions per year
What You'll Do
As a Competitive Team Coach, you'll play a key role in developing athletes' skills, confidence, and love for the sport.
Responsibilities include:
- Coaching engaging, safe, and effective gymnastics practices
- Working closely with the Team Head Coach to develop athlete training plans and team curriculum
- Supporting athletes competing within the USAG Xcel program
- Monitoring athlete progress and maintaining skill tracking records
- Reviewing lesson plans and taking attendance
- Ensuring athlete safety and completing injury or incident reports when necessary
- Setting up, moving, and organizing mats, stations, and training equipment
- Building positive relationships with athletes, families, and fellow staff members
- Supporting programming across both our Bok and Queen Village locations as needed
What We're Looking For
We're seeking coaches who are passionate about athlete development, team culture, and quality instruction.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on gymnastics coaching experience or a strong gymnastics background
- Experience teaching gymnastics to children
- Knowledge of the USAG Xcel program and Code of Points, particularly at the Platinum level
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform physical coaching duties, including moving equipment and setting up training stations
- Ability to pass required Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Experience coaching competitive gymnastics teams
Additional Teaching Opportunities
Depending on your interests and availability, there may be opportunities to coach additional programs, including:
- Early Years Gymnastics (Ages 1–5)
- Enrichment & Intensive Programs (Ages 5–12)
- Adult Gymnastics (18+)
