American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Alexandria, LA, with at least 1 year of experience caring for post-surgical, orthopedic, and neuro patients on a day shift schedule.

Acute Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes post-surgical, orthopedic, general surgery, and neurological cases
-
Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Weekends may be required based on scheduling needs
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Epic EMR experience is a bonus but not required
-
13-week contract
-
Active RN license in Louisiana or a valid Compact RN license required
-
BLS certification from the AHA required
-
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
-
BSN preferred
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
-
Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
-
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
-
Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
-
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
-
Makes appropriate care assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed

Position has potential to convert to a permanent role
