Summary:
A manufacturer in Evansville is seeking an Assembler & Tester for its Machine Shop. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and preparing machine components and finished products to meet quality, production, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: $20.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour for 2nd shift differential after successful completion of training.
Schedule:
- 1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- 2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. (Overtime on Fridays is needed based on production needs).
Responsibilities:
- Assemble machined components, subassemblies, and finished products according to instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Perform functional, pressure, and quality testing to confirm products meet performance and customer requirements.
- Inspect parts and finished products, verify dimensions and fit, and report defects or non-conforming materials.
- Maintain accurate production, testing, and inspection records while following safety procedures and keeping the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- Six months to one year of manufacturing, assembly, testing, or machine shop experience is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify quality concerns.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, work orders, and quality documentation.
- Basic math skills and experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other inspection equipment are preferred.
