Responsibilities:
- Perform various tasks to support the operations of an optical office or clinic.
-Be able to work up patients in a timely manner
- Greet patients and provide excellent patient care, ensuring the patient knows what to expect. Answer phones and schedule appointments, as well as answer any questions or concerns patients may have.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with optometrists to provide high-quality patient care.
- Ensures that accurate funds are collected, that charges are made to vision care plans, and that payments are made at the point of service.
- Participate in the team environment by displaying and following through and to be able to help assist co-workers in any way
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and ability to handle administrative tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems and ability to accurately code procedures and diagnoses.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is beneficial for understanding patient conditions.
