Job Description
Since 1998, Campbells has been more than just a service provider—we are a staple of the Southwest Montana community. With over 28 years of experience, we have built our reputation on a foundation of reliability, exceptional craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
When you join Campbells, you aren’t just taking a job; you’re joining a team of professionals who take pride in serving our neighbors in Bozeman, Belgrade, Livingston, Big Sky, and the surrounding communities. We believe in doing the job right the first time and treating every project as if it were our own.
Why Construction Leaders Choose Campbells:
- Legacy of Excellence: We’ve spent nearly three decades building a brand you can be proud to represent.
- Supportive Environment: You aren't on an island. You’ll work alongside a dedicated office staff, expert field Foremen, and a leadership team that actually listens.
- High-Impact Projects: From high-end residential builds to critical commercial systems, you will direct the construction processes that shape the Gallatin Valley.
- Montana Lifestyle: Based in the Gallatin Valley, we actively respect the work-life balance that allows you to enjoy everything our beautiful region has to offer.
The Role: Impact & Responsibilities
As a Construction Manager at Campbells, you are the driving force of execution in the field. You will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring our plumbing or HVAC installations meet strict safety, quality, and structural timelines. You bridge the gap between high-level project management and daily site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site & Project Oversight: Manage the daily construction operations of plumbing or HVAC projects from ground-breaking or rough-in through to final inspection and system commission.
- Field & Crew Coordination and Training: Efficiently schedule field crews, coordinate directly with Foremen, and oversee specialized subcontractors to maintain project momentum. Actively lead high-level training initiatives for field employees, focusing on lean construction practices, optimized tool/material staging, and advanced installation techniques to maximize jobsite efficiency and reduce waste.
- Material & Logistics Management: Ensure proper staging, delivery, and tracking of heavy equipment, fixtures, and piping materials to prevent job site downtime.
- Financial Stewardship: Track labor hours and project costs against budget constraints, manage change orders, and keep projects profitable without compromising quality.
- Builder & Client Relations: Act as a primary point of contact on job sites for General Contractors, commercial builders, and homeowners, maintaining the 5-star reputation Campbells is known for.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, local building codes, and company safety protocols across all assigned job sites.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of construction management or supervisory experience within the mechanical trades (Plumbing or HVAC commercial/residential experience is highly preferred).
- Blueprint Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and structural blueprints to identify routing bottlenecks or system conflicts before they hit the field.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills. You can coordinate effectively with demanding General Contractors and guide field crews with clarity.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with modern construction project management software (Procore), digital scheduling tools, and the Google/Microsoft suites.
- Leadership & Character: A solutions-oriented mindset. You lead by example, hold teams accountable, and believe that "good enough" isn't good enough.
Are You Ready to Lead?
At Campbells, we don’t just hire for skills; we hire for character. If you’re a motivated leader looking to grow with a company that values its people as much as its profits, we want to talk to you.
