Job Overview
The cleaning specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the Myna Therapy Office through activities including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and emptying trash bins. The cleaning specialist ensures the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies and is be responsible for reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Job Duties
- Maintain a safe and welcoming office environment
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Sanitize and disinfect surfaces, restrooms, and high-touch areas
- Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries as needed.
- Ensure all facilities are in working order and report any maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor as necessary
- Perform minor repairs on fixtures, furniture, and equipment such as changing light bulbs and addressing minor plumbing leaks
- Assemble equipment and furniture as needed
- Keeping track of cleaning supplies and equipment, requesting new supplies when needed
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Follow safety and health regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
- Respond to client requests and address any concerns promptly.
- Adhere to the cleaning schedule and complete tasks within the allotted time frame.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables in the appropriate manner.
- Light snow removal
- Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to the satisfaction of the client.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
- Locking and unlocking doors and windows and ensuring the building is secure after hours
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety regulations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred but not required.
