The Oaks by Windham located in Macon, GA is seeking to hire a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for our 7pm-7am shift. In this position you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. You will provide compassionate care and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring that our residents feel valued and respected. Your dedication will empower those you assist, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving the support they need.
What you’ll do
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff as necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to create a safe and welcoming environment.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility assistance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Basic qualifications
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs.
- Experience in senior care or long-term care settings preferred.
Preferred qualifications
- First aid certification and familiarity with emergency response protocols.
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and social work principles.
- Proficiency in driving for transportation needs when required.
