Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure all areas meet high standards of sanitation and appearance. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, waste removal, and ensuring restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Follow all safety protocols during cleaning activities to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the facility
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall building upkeep
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation procedures, and the use of various cleaning equipment such as mops and vacuums
- Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures
- Knowledge of safety protocol adherence related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and facility maintenance practices
- Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when necessary
- Previous porter or maintenance experience is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment and procedures
