The primary function of the Server is to ensure all patrons have a pleasant dining experience by providing high quality service in the most efficient and effective manner. The Server will also be responsible for cleaning assigned areas and may be required to wash or put away dishes as needed.
Assists in preparing food
Plate residents’ food according to their specific nutritional needs as specified on their diet cards
Remain alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concerns
Prepare food trays and beverages
Prepare short order requests
Prepare food serving areas for use and serve and deliver food
Set up dining room with appropriate dishes and silverware
Serve residents’ food and beverages according to their specific texture and nutritional needs as specified on their diet sheet
Monitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cards
Is polite and respectful to all residents, guests and staff
Follows HACCP* standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing food
Uses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budget
Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas
Assists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishes
Clears and wipes down tables in the dining room
Takes out trash
Sweeps and mops dining room floors
Uses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standards
Records required temps and cleaning schedules
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) an internationally recognized method of identifying and managing food safety
Qualifications and Experience:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must be able to work a minimum of every other weekend and holidays
Preferred previous experience in food service
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
