Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk/Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth daily operations within our medical practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, handling phone communication, managing electronic health records, and supporting medical scheduling to deliver a positive patient experience. This position will begin with front desk responsibilities and transition into cross-training as an optometric technician, as all team members are trained to supposrt multiple areas of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Manage incoming phone calls efficiently, addressing patient inquiries and scheduling needs.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems to accurately document patient information and medical history.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with typing and documentation tasks related to patient care and administrative duties.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure clear understanding of appointments and procedures.
- Support the clinical team by performing administrative tasks as needed to facilitate smooth clinic functioning.
Experience
- Prior experience in an optometric or ophthalmology office is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally via phone and in person.
- Proficiency in typing and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and a friendly, professional demeanor are essential for success in this role.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
