Who we are:
AAGS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making Central New York a safer and more humane place for animals and the people who care about them. In addition to our spay/neuter efforts, we assist with animal cruelty investigations, provide medical funding for animals in need, and offer rewards for information leading to animal cruelty and abandonment convictions.
What success looks like:
We’re looking for veterinarians who combine strong medical standards with kindness, teamwork, and a desire to make a difference. We value mentorship, open communication, and a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing pre-operative examinations
- Spay and neuter surgeries for dogs, cats, and community cats
- Post-operative patient evaluations
- Oversight of anesthesia, recovery, and controlled substances
- Management of surgical complications and emergencies
- Staff mentorship and training
- Development and refinement of medical protocols
Qualifications:
- DVM or VMD degree
- Licensed in New York State or eligible for licensure
- Active DEA license or ability to obtain one
- Passion for animal welfare and community impact
