American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool PCU/Progressive Care position requiring both KS and MO (or compact) RN licenses and a minimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience.

This is a float pool position — candidates will not be assigned a home unit and will rotate across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments, including floating to other metro campuses as needed

Patient population includes cardiac, neuro, sepsis, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, ETOH, SI, COVID, and wound care cases

Patient ratio is 1:5

Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath care, and emergency response

Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
-
Equipment used includes 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell; Virtual Nurses are also utilized
-
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, with shifts falling on any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is not available

Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri (or a compact license covering both states) must be in hand at time of consideration

KS or compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred certification: ACLS

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/progressive care specialty experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days

Experience in Med/Surg telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown settings required
-
Willingness to float between units and metro campuses is required — refusal may result in contract cancellation
-
2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above, and the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

SSN required for consideration

Charge RN assignments and holiday shift coverage may be required as needed

Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract

Compliance modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date; modules average 10–15 hours total and are completed annually thereafter

Drug screening is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared will result in assignment cancellation and a 6-month waiting period before reapplying
