Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform comprehensive cleaning duties across all facility areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to ensure optimal cleanliness.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with adherence to safe lifting practices to avoid injury.
- Maintain sanitation standards through routine cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, and managing waste disposal effectively.
- Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep to ensure a well-maintained environment.
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects or commercial cleaning tasks requiring specialized equipment or techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all custodial operations and maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
Skills
- Proven janitorial experience with a strong understanding of commercial and industrial cleaning processes.
- Skilled in operating cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and related tools.
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following established safety practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach when interacting with staff or visitors.
- Experience in custodial duties such as sanitation, floor care, and general facilities maintenance.
- Familiarity with residential painting or minor repair work is a plus but not required.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions for chemical handling and equipment use.
