The QC Assistant supports quality control activities in the pile finishing plant by helping inspect finished products, maintain documentation, verify measurements, and assist with basic shop-floor quality checks. This role works closely with production, finishing, and quality personnel to help ensure products meet company standards and customer requirements.

Assist with visual inspection of finished or in-process pile products.

Verify product dimensions, markings, coatings, welds, or other specifications as directed.

Help maintain quality control records, checklists, inspection logs, and related documentation.

Compare finished products against work orders, drawings, specifications, or customer requirements.

Identify and report nonconforming materials, damage, defects, or inconsistencies.

Assist with tracking rework, corrections, and follow-up inspections.

Support organization of QC files, photos, test reports, and production records.

Communicate quality concerns to supervisors, QC staff, and production team members.

Help ensure products are properly labeled, staged, and ready for shipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Follow all company safety policies and plant procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, fabrication, welding, coating, or quality control helpful but not required.

Ability to read basic measurements using a tape measure or other measuring tools.

Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, and steel-toed boots as required.

Must follow all safety requirements while working around production areas.

Familiarity with steel products, pipe, piling, welding, coatings, or fabrication.

Experience reading work orders, shop drawings, or basic specifications.

Forklift, crane signaling, or rigging awareness.

Prior shop, warehouse, construction, or trades experience.

Interest in quality control, manufacturing, engineering, welding, or construction materials.
