American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel contract at a large academic Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and NRP certification.

Position is in a Neonatal ICU (NICU) at a large, academic Level I Trauma Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
-
Typical patient ratio is 1:2–4
-
Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, available on both day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:00–7:00) rotations
-
Schedules are built in 6-week blocks and may vary based on census and staffing needs
-
Shift switches between days and nights within the same week are generally avoided, except during orientation to fulfill required hours
-
Every other weekend is required

Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
-
No on-call requirement

Charting is done in Epic
-
Parking is available at the facility for a monthly fee

Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date

Current certifications required: BLS and NRP

Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required

Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required

Proficiency with IVs, central lines, OG/NG feeds, and phlebotomy required

Epic EMR experience preferred

Nursing license must be free of prior disciplinary actions

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler

Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
