We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison and strategic driver for our specialized Industry Subsector Groups. In this role, you will manage, grow, and support dedicated communities within our broader manufacturing association (such as defense, auto, medical device, pharmaceutical, metals, etc.).
Your primary focus will be staffing these individual subsector committees, driving member retention, and delivering tailored programming that addresses the unique supply chain, regulatory, and technical challenges facing these specific manufacturing niches.
Key Responsibilities
1. Committee & Subsector Governance
· Staff Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact and administrative engine for 3–5 assigned industry subsector councils or working groups.
· Meeting Management: Coordinate calendar invitations, build agendas in collaboration with group chairs, record concise minutes, and track action items to ensure momentum between meetings.
· Volunteer Leadership Support: Onboard committee chairs and working group members, ensuring alignment with the association’s overall strategic plan.
2. Member Engagement & Retention
· Onboarding & Relationship Building: Welcome new subsector members with targeted resources, ensuring they quickly connect with their specific peer groups.
· Needs Assessments: Conduct regular check-ins and surveys to understand the evolving pain points, technical needs, and regulatory hurdles of each subsector.
· Retention Tracking: Monitor engagement metrics (meeting attendance, resource downloads) to identify "at-risk" members and execute proactive outreach strategies.
3. Content & Program Delivery
· Niche Programming: Collaborate with others on IMA team to curate subsector-specific webinars, roundtables, and plant tours.
· Communication Management: Draft and distribute tailored monthly or quarterly newsletters, industry updates, and forum posts specific to each subsector's interests.
· Database Integrity: Maintain clean, accurate member records within the IMA database to ensure precise segmentation for communications and billing
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
· Experience: 2–4 years of experience in professional association management, corporate account coordination, or non-profit volunteer management.
· Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interface confidently with manufacturing executives and business owners.
· Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance competing deadlines across multiple committees simultaneously.
· Technical Savvy: Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, Member Clicks) and standard collaboration tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Preferred:
· Familiarity with or an interest in the manufacturing sector, supply chain dynamics, or industrial trade groups.
· Experience managing volunteer-led committees or board structures.
· Experience writing and executing competitive grants.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
