QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally.

As a Barback, you are an essential member of the beverage team and play a critical role in creating a smooth, efficient, and welcoming guest experience. You will work closely with bartenders, managers, and the broader service team to ensure the bar is properly stocked, clean, organized, and ready to provide exceptional service.
The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, observant, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This position requires someone who takes pride in the details, works well as part of a team, and understands that great hospitality starts behind the scenes. No task is beneath you, and your ability to anticipate the needs of the bar team helps create the moments our guests remember.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bar Operations & Support

Support bartenders and beverage leadership throughout service to ensure smooth and efficient bar operations.

Maintain fully stocked bar areas, including liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, napkins, and other necessary supplies.

Monitor inventory levels throughout the shift and proactively communicate restocking needs.

Retrieve and replenish products quickly and efficiently during high-volume service.

Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the bar is fully prepared for service.

Maintain organization of back-bar storage, refrigerators, liquor rooms, and other beverage storage areas.
-
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating beverage deliveries as directed.

Help maintain accurate organization of beverage products and supplies.
Cleanliness & Attention to Detail

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar environment throughout the shift.

Clean and polish glassware, bar tools, equipment, and work areas as needed.

Clear and remove empty bottles, glassware, trash, and other items from bar and service areas.

Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, ice wells, speed rails, shelving, and storage areas.

Follow all sanitation and food safety standards.

Immediately address spills, broken glass, or other hazards to maintain a safe environment.

Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and proactively address issues before they become problems.
Teamwork & Hospitality

Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, hosts, managers, kitchen staff, and other team members.

Anticipate the needs of bartenders and the beverage team and provide support before being asked.

Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates throughout service.

Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude, particularly during high-volume periods.

Support the overall guest experience by helping the team deliver timely and attentive service.

Guest & Safety Support

Maintain awareness of guests and activity around the bar and communicate concerns to management when appropriate.

Assist the service team in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Follow all company policies regarding responsible alcohol service and guest safety.

Immediately report spills, broken glass, unsafe conditions, guest concerns, or other incidents to management.

Support security and management teams when requested to help maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
Opening & Closing Responsibilities

Complete assigned opening duties to ensure the bar is fully stocked, clean, and ready for service.

Complete assigned closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, trash removal, glassware organization, and securing beverage areas.

Ensure all supplies are properly stored and organized for the following shift.

Communicate inventory shortages, maintenance concerns, or other operational issues to the appropriate manager.

Leave the bar and service areas clean, organized, and ready for the next day's operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Must be at least 18 years of age, or meet all applicable age requirements for the position and duties under Louisiana law.

Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute as part of a team.

Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on assigned responsibilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during high-volume service periods.

Willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
Preferred
-
Previous barback, restaurant, bar, hotel, or hospitality experience.

Previous experience working in a high-volume restaurant or bar environment.

Knowledge of basic bar products, spirits, beer, wine, and cocktail ingredients.

Previous experience with opening and closing bar procedures.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the restaurant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment and machines. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
