from, Jane is a new neighborhood bakery coming soon to Midtown Tallahassee, serving fresh-baked pastries, breads, cakes, sandwiches, coffee, matcha, and more. We’re looking for a talented and dependable Baker to join our opening team and help bring our bakery to life.
About the Role
As a Baker at from, Jane, you’ll be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of items from our daily menu while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves baking, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in creating things that taste just as good as they look.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery items
- Follow recipes and production standards to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with prepping doughs, batters, fillings, frostings, and other components
- Decorate and finish baked goods with attention to presentation
- Help prepare breads and baked items used for our sandwich menu
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
- Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients and finished products
- Monitor inventory and communicate ingredient or supply needs
- Assist with daily prep and production planning
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Be comfortable with early-morning shifts as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional baking, pastry, or kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic baking techniques and food safety
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and manage multiple tasks
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working on your feet and lifting typical bakery supplies and equipment
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a growing new business
- Culinary or pastry education is a plus, but not required
