Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Smog Technician to join our automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing emissions testing and ensuring vehicles meet all regulatory standards. Your expertise will help keep vehicles compliant with environmental laws while supporting our customers’ automotive needs. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive emissions tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized diagnostic equipment
- Perform vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues affecting emissions and overall performance
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to repair or adjust components as needed
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and repairs performed for each vehicle
- Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, brake repairs, and other auto service functions when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during testing and repair processes
- Communicate clearly with customers about test results, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment
- Experience with vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, or auto restoration is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or inspections
- Knowledge of automotive service procedures and emissions testing standards
- Mechanic experience or certification is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
