Pay: $18.25 per hour

In addition both immediate basic needs services and longer term stabilization services for children, adults and seniors.
Position Summary
The Food Warehouse Assistant & Driver is responsible for assisting the Food Team with the day-to-day operations of Network's Food Programs, including utilizing Network's company vehicles to transport food and drive for Network's Mobile Food Pantry program.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist Food Pantry and Warehouse Managers with day-to-day pantry and warehouse operations.
· Prepare vehicle for Mobile Pantry distributions including stocking, maintaining intake devices (iPads) and paperwork.
· Transport to host sites.
· Coordinate on-site Mobile Pantry distributions including training and supervising volunteers.
· Communicate with Volunteer Manager and Director of Programs regarding volunteer and AmeriCorps needs at each distribution site.
· Drive Network vehicles to receive donations and purchases from commercial businesses and deliver donated goods to Network.
· Maintain the pick-up schedule including arriving and departing each location on time.
· Screen for product usability before, during, or after a donation pick-up.
· Load and unload all donated materials.
· Sort and process all delivered donations (with volunteer assistance).
· Communicate with the Programs Department, key volunteers, and the North Texas Food Bank as appropriate regarding incoming donations.
· Maintain relationships and communication with retail partners.
· Assist with training and supervising volunteers.
· Maintain an effective working relationship with Network staff, volunteers, donors, and clients. Provide donors with polite and courteous customer service.
· Operate electronic pallet jack and other power tools as necessary.
· Daily cleaning and straightening of Network trucks, pantry, & warehouse.
· Maintain required certifications by NTFB and Fork-lift Certification.
· Practice safe food handling procedures at all times.
· Ensure food staff and volunteers practice safe food handling procedures at all times.
· Practice safe driving procedures at all times, obeying all traffic laws; Conduct vehicle safety checks as required.
· Attend Network all-staff meetings and quarterly retreats.
· Utilize tie straps, load and stack box truck properly.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Experience
· Valid CDL/Texas Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record.
· Read, write, and converse in English.
· Ability to spend majority of the day standing or moving about Network and businesses. Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions.
· Ability to maneuver, with the assistance of pallet jacks, pallets of products within the confines of a box truck and warehouse spaces.
· Ability to lift 75 pounds.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience working with and managing volunteers.
· Flexibility in schedule including evening and Saturday Pantry operations, the schedule may change.
