Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our outpatient medical oncology team. This provider will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment, working collaboratively with oncologists and a multidisciplinary team to manage complex oncologic conditions across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and symptom evaluation
- Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans in collaboration with supervising oncologists
- Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
- Manage treatment-related toxicities and oncologic emergencies in the outpatient setting
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care
- Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, social work, and other multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in survivorship care planning and end-of-life discussions when appropriate
- Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations
Qualifications
- NP or PA. Required
- 2 years experience preferred.
