Job Summary
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills from prints or work instructions.
- Set up and operate manual lathes and/or mills from prints or work instructions.
Summary of essential job functions
- Will consider training right candidate for all job functions but experience is preferred.
- Ability to read micrometers and calipers, as well as operate other machinist tools as necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret machining prints and drawings.
- CNC experience a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with G&M Code programming a plus.
- Position may require some overtime.
- Must be versatile, flexible, self-motivated and ability to work independently and as a team as directed.
- Must have good knowledge of basic math. Knowledge of machining formulas a plus.
Physical requirements:
- Tasks/assignments may require repetitive walking, bending and lifting.
- Must be able to stand 6 to 8 hours daily while performing tasks.
- Tasks require frequent use of hands, such as grasping and gripping.
- Some reaching between the shoulders and waist heights while performing tasks is necessary.
- Must be able to lift and carry 1 to 20lbs frequently, 50 to 70lbs occasionally.
Minimum requirements
- Previous machining experience in manufacturing and or industrial setting preferred.
- Experience in nonferrous metal working operations is a plus.
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Ability to pass required pre-employment physical with drug screening
- Basic Blue Print Reading and Understanding of GD & T
