Job responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Maintain a working environment that complies with health and safety guidelines
- Assist with opening & closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, napkins, clean towels, glassware, etc.
- Check taps and appliances to confirm that they are in operating order, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, as needed
- Keep the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, removing dirty glassware, scrubbing coolers & storage areas, emptying trash receptacles, etc.
- Possess knowledge on the preparation of all beverages we offer and mastery of the food menu in order to guide guests’ choices with thoughtful recommendations
- Keep a clean and organized bar and maintain appropriate inventory, use organized steps of service to ensure order accuracy and consistency even in the busiest of times
- Be proactive and anticipate the needs of coworkers and guests
- Build rapport with guests in order to increase repeat clientele
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Barback, Busser or Runner experience
- TABC/Food Han Certification
- Perform more than one task at a time
- Follow the supervisor's instructions
- Report to work in a complete required uniform
- Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant
- Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Be courteous, friendly and pleasant
- Stand and walk for an entire shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties
- Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface
- Lift and carry multiple plates from kitchen to dining room
- Night, weekend, and holiday availability
- Safely move about in all areas of the restaurant
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, and wipe
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy Back of house and Front of house atmosphere
