Penmac Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support daily building maintenance and custodial operations for one of our client facilities in Overland Park, KS. This Maintenance Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in keeping spaces clean and safe, and is willing to learn building systems.
Schedule & Pay for Maintenance Assistant
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00/2:30 PM, with a starting pay rate of $16.00 per hour.
Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist with basic plumbing maintenance and minor repairs
- Perform painting and touch-up work as needed
- Empty trash and recycling, both inside and outside the facility
- Clean carpets and assist with floor waxing and general floor care
- Lift, move, and transport supplies, furniture, and equipment
- Learn to operate the lobby elevator to provide coverage during breaks
- Assist with building alarm system operations
- Help maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior areas
- Complete other maintenance and custodial tasks as assigned
Requirements for the Maintenance Assistant
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items
- Willingness to learn building systems and procedures
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently or on a team
- Previous maintenance or custodial experience is helpful, but not required
