At ICC International, quality is not just a department. It is part of how we build, solve problems, support our customers, and hold ourselves accountable.
ICC International is a trusted manufacturer of custom commutators and slip rings for large industrial applications. Our products support demanding industries where reliability, precision, and performance matter. We combine expert craftsmanship with proven processes to deliver custom-built components that help keep critical equipment running.
We are looking for a Quality Manager who is hands-on, practical, and comfortable leading quality in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, working closely with production teams, solving problems at the source, strengthening documentation, and building quality systems that actually support daily operations.
This is not a desk-only compliance role. The right person will lead people, improve processes, support operations, and help drive sustainable corrective action.
What You’ll Do
As the Quality Manager, you will lead ICC’s quality function across quality management, inspection, documentation, nonconformance management, root cause analysis, internal audits, gage calibration, process audits, training support, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Quality department and support Quality Systems, Problem Solving, and Quality Control functions
- Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and direction to quality team members
- Manage nonconformance, containment, disposition, root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of effectiveness
- Lead and support RCCA, 8D, internal audit, process audit, and continuous improvement activities
- Track quality issues, repeat defects, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and customer escapes
- Oversee incoming inspection, in-process inspection, outgoing inspection, and final quality verification
- Manage and improve quality procedures, work instructions, inspection records, forms, and production quality documentation
- Maintain the gage calibration system and ensure measurement equipment is properly identified, calibrated, controlled, and available
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Customer Service, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues
- Support quality training for operators, inspectors, supervisors, and production teams
- Lead and maintain 6S expectations within Quality and support 6S improvement across manufacturing areas
- Use quality data to identify trends, reduce repeat issues, and improve customer satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
The right person for this role is a strong manufacturing quality leader who can balance process discipline with practical shop-floor problem solving. You should be organized, clear in your communication, comfortable holding people accountable, and able to follow issues through to closure.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Two or more years of leadership, supervision, or quality team management experience
- Strong knowledge of nonconformance management, root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D problem solving
- Experience with inspection processes, quality documentation, internal audits, and process audits
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with shop floor employees, supervisors, managers, customers, and suppliers
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, high-mix manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through to closure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, machining, assembly, electrical/mechanical products, rotating equipment, or engineered-to-order environments
- Experience with commutators, slip rings, copper components, insulation systems, or similar industrial products
- Familiarity with ISO-based quality management systems or similar structured quality systems
- Experience with gage calibration systems and measurement control
- Experience with ERP systems; Infor Visual experience is a plus
- Green Belt, Lean, Six Sigma, ASQ, or similar quality and continuous improvement training
- Experience leading internal audits, customer corrective actions, or supplier corrective actions
What Success Looks Like
A successful Quality Manager at ICC is someone who:
- Builds quality ownership across the team instead of relying only on final inspection
- Reduces internal nonconformances, repeat defects, rework, and customer escapes
- Improves RCCA timeliness, effectiveness, and follow-through
- Strengthens audit performance and corrective action closure
- Maintains a reliable gage calibration system
- Improves inspection accuracy, responsiveness, and documentation quality
- Supports production flow while protecting quality standards
- Partners well with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, suppliers, and customers
- Leads with accountability, clarity, and a continuous improvement mindset
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Regular presence on the manufacturing floor is required
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and follow all safety requirements
- Must be able to use a computer, review documentation, and participate in meetings for extended periods
- May occasionally need to stand, walk, bend, or inspect parts, equipment, or work areas
- Limited travel may be required for occasional customer or supplier visits
