Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines, including lathes and milling centers, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration for each job.
- Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code commands, including Fanuc controls, to produce complex parts with high precision.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD software to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Operate manual machining tools such as grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, hand tools, and power tools to perform finishing or troubleshooting tasks.
- Conduct precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform machine setup adjustments and troubleshoot issues during production runs to optimize machining processes.
- Conduct CNC quality inspections and maintain high-quality output.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist - II or similar role with a strong understanding of CNC programming (including G-code/M-code) and machine setup.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately for machining operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and related manual tools.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks and CAM programming techniques for efficient toolpath creation.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Experience with CNC control systems such as Haas or similar automation controls.
- Strong measurement skills using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality control purposes.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
- Ability to perform machine setup independently while adhering to safety standards; previous experience with CNC lathe or milling machines preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to promote continuous improvement within the production environment.
