Position Summary
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Daycare Assistant Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate has a genuine love for working with young children and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to support children's growth and development while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist the with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation.
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (6 weeks–5 years).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions.
- Encourage age-appropriate learning through play, exploration, and hands-on activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, and other personal care routines.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's daily activities and well-being.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
