Spanish Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Charge Nurse (RN or LVN) to join our team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations on the assigned unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with facility policies and state regulations. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a commitment to resident safety and dignity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies
- Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing staff on the assigned shift
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to physicians, families, and leadership as required
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in compliance with regulations
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions
- Ensure infection control, safety, and quality standards are maintained at all times
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to nursing staff
- Maintain compliance with Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) regulations and facility policies
- Promote a positive, respectful, and professional work environment
Qualifications
- Current and valid Texas RN or LVN license
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Charge Nurse or in a supervisory nursing role
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards
- Experience with medication administration and treatment documentation
Work Schedule
- Our Open Charge Nurse Position is Monday to Friday from 2:00PM to 10:00PM

- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
