Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Landscape Equipment and Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of landscape equipment, mowers and fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining a well-functioning fleet. This position offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on work with diverse mechanical systems, including diesel engines, electrical components, and gas engines
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other small engines.
- Maintain and repair fleet vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct engine repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, utilizing mechanical knowledge and power tools effectively.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and small engine servicing.
- Use welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment components as needed. (Rare)
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- bilingual is a plus but not required
- service technician background with a focus on equipment or automotive repair.
- mechanical knowledge of engines—including diesel—and electrical systems with experience in electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Experience in equipment troubleshooting across various systems such as power generation or mechanical systems repair.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely in outdoor environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication.
- Knowledge is a plus; certification in small engine maintenance is advantageous.
