Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Prep/Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong background in kitchen operations, with experience in casual dining, catering, and food safety standards. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation to ensure exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Plate dishes attractively and efficiently for service
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods, including assisting with meal preparation and serving as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Ensure all food is stored properly to prevent spoilage and contamination
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Fine dining experience or restaurant experience highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Culinary experience that demonstrates creativity and professionalism
