Title IV-E Eligibility & Medicaid Specialist

This incredible opportunity involves making initial and continuing Title IV-E and Medicaid eligibility determinations for Foster Care children, all in accordance with Federal, State, and DHHS policy and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialists perform the following tasks:
Collecting and reviewing client information to determine client's/applicant's eligibility and options.
Preparing and/or processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and/or
evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.
Referring clients to other available services to meet needs where appropriate.
Consulting with Division of Child Family Services staff regarding eligibility requirements when necessary.
Maintaining and/or creating files or record keeping systems; sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents,
and/or other materials.
Entering data into relevant databases such as EREP, and SAFE
Participate in Peer Reviews, state and Federal audits.
Qualifications
Has excellent computer skills and technologically savvy required;
Has organization skills, strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; and a strong commitment to customer service;
Is detail oriented;
Is able to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action;
Knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist position Title IV-E;
Reading, interpreting, and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures;
principles, theories, and practices of the Medicaid/Medicare system;
Knowledge of State or agency-specific software application program(s);
Knowledge of SAFE (i.e., State social services computer application program);
Experience with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet; Microsoft Word & Excel;
Knowledge and experience with Foster care services.

Department of Human Resource Management rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current employees.
Travel required; you may be required to use your personal vehicle to perform the duties of this position; approved mileage is reimbursable through State Finance.
All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a Background Screening Application (BSA).
Must have a valid Utah driver’s license.

Physical Requirements
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Working Conditions
Risk found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heaters and ventilated, safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc..
