Job Overview
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounting Assistant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will gain diverse experience supporting a corporate group that spans real estate, wholesale, and retail sectors. You will play a vital role in tracking property expenses, processing commercial bills, keeping accounts accurate, and maintaining an organized financial filing system.
Job Type & Location
- Job Type: Part-time, On-site.
- Location: Paramount, CA.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday.
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (20 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Property Accounting: Manage rental income and expense worksheets for individual real estate properties.
- Mortgage Tracking: Monitor and manage recurring mortgage payments across a diverse property portfolio.
- Utility Coordination: Communicate with utility companies to start, stop, or change services for properties.
- Bill Payments: Review, organize, and process payments for vendor, utility, and other related bills.
- QuickBooks Data Entry: Post daily financial transactions accurately across multiple company profiles.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Filing & Documentation: Maintain individual files per property for all mortgage statements and bills and properly organize and maintain monthly bills and bank statements for audit readiness.
- Intercompany Support: Assist with basic data entry and record-keeping for our entire group of companies.
- Other Duties: Handle additional financial tasks and assignments required to keep operations running smoothly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Software (Must-Have): Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop or online) is strictly required.
- Software (Must-Have): Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Education: Associate degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent coursework.
- Organization: Exceptional filing skills with high attention to physical and digital document management.
- Communication: Strong phone and email communication skills to effectively handle utility accounts.
- Adaptability: Ability to switch tasks efficiently between real estate, retail, and wholesale accounts.
- Skills: High data entry accuracy, strong math skills, and excellent organizational habits.
