Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting all findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in long-term care, hospice, and respite care to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and adhering to safety protocols in infectious disease or skilled nursing environments.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual requirements.
- Ensure medical documentation is complete and accurate while maintaining confidentiality of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids safely and effectively across inpatient, outpatient, or home & community care settings.
Skills
- Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs monitoring essential for patient care.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level II trauma center exposure; familiarity with acute care procedures is highly valued.
- Experience supporting diverse populations such as seniors in geriatrics or assisted living facilities; familiarity with dementia and memory care is preferred.
- Skilled in medication administration, catheter care, aseptic technique, and infection control practices across various healthcare environments.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Home & Community Care software or DME documentation tools.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or behavioral health needs; understanding of trauma-informed care approaches is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as urgent care centers or hospital medicine units while maintaining high standards of patient service.
