Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cold Storage Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves handling temperature-sensitive goods within a refrigerated environment, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and transportation of perishable products. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, technical proficiency with various equipment, and a commitment to safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to ensure accurate stock levels and proper stock rotation.
- Work as a food prep, cutting and prepping fruits and vegetables
- Conduct manual handling and heavy lifting of perishable items while following proper safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, stock levels, and product locations through the warehouse management system.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by preparing items for dispatch or receipt, ensuring compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by stocking shelves, organizing materials, and ensuring optimal storage conditions in the cold environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure efficient workflow, proper packaging, and timely order fulfillment.
- Follow all safety procedures related to cold storage environments, including PPE use and hazard awareness.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations within cold storage or refrigerated environments.
- Skilled in operating reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO), and order picking techniques.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for manual handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, packaging, order fulfillment, and materials handling.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to strict safety protocols.
