Facilities Project Engineer job in Hampton, VA for our client, a growing aerospace and industrial products manufacturer. The Facilities Project Engineer will apply engineering principles to design, modify, and develop facilities, machinery, and equipment to advance technology and productivity within a manufacturing environment. The position will manage capital and expense projects, including developing scopes and budgets, maintaining schedules, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Candidates must bring capital equipment installation experience, as testing and implementing newly installed machines and equipment is a core function of this role.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 plus a 5% bonus, excellent benefits that start on day one, including a robust 401K plan, multiple medical insurance plans, and more.

Responsibilities for the Facilities Project Engineer job in Hampton, VA include:
- Oversee CapEX and production equipment installation projects from inception to completion
- Specifying new production equipment and modifications to existing equipment
- Developing functional specifications and contract scope of work documents, including cost estimates
- Working with suppliers and contractors on procurement and implementation of production equipment and infrastructure support
- Testing newly installed machines and equipment to ensure contract specifications are met
- Providing maintenance engineering and troubleshooting assistance
- Overseeing contractor work and monitoring safe work practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or similar engineering principle from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical project engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Capital equipment installation experience is required
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor design software is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems in a diverse industrial environment is a plus
- Familiarity with a wide variety of facility infrastructure systems is a plus
- Ability to rapidly grasp concepts, understand processes, and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position
