Montessori Primary Assistant Teacher

Are you passionate about working with young children in a nurturing, respectful, and child-centered environment? Montessori of University Village is seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Primary Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team!
As a Primary Assistant, you will work alongside an experienced Montessori Guide to support children ages 3–6 years in a beautiful prepared environment that fosters independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Montessori Guide in maintaining a peaceful and engaging classroom.
- Assist children with daily routines while encouraging independence.
- Prepare and maintain classroom materials and the learning environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
- Follow all state licensing and school policies.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 preferred.
- Montessori experience is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, positive, and professional attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
- Must pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
