The Opportunity
CPA is hiring certified high school teachers for the 2026–2027 school year across core content areas. In this role, you will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, cultivate a positive learning environment, and prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and habits needed for college, careers, and lifelong success.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons aligned to Michigan Academic Standards and high school content expectations.
- Design instruction that promotes critical thinking, analytical reasoning, collaboration, and real-world application of learning.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student achievement and provide targeted feedback, intervention, and enrichment.
- Maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and student engagement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support student growth.
- Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, expectations, and academic goals.
- Collaborate with department teams, PLCs, and school staff to align curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices.
- Support MTSS interventions and implement accommodations outlined in IEPs and 504 Plans.
- Participate in professional learning, coaching, school-wide initiatives, and extracurricular opportunities as appropriate.
- Promote college, career, and workforce readiness through meaningful learning experiences and student mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related content area.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate secondary endorsement(s).
- Strong knowledge of high school curriculum, instructional best practices, and adolescent development.
- Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with students while maintaining high academic expectations.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative classroom and school culture.
- Willingness to complete background checks and fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior high school teaching experience with evidence of student achievement and growth.
- Experience preparing students for postsecondary success, including college and career readiness initiatives.
- Experience using assessment data to drive instructional decisions and interventions.
- Master’s degree, advanced coursework, or additional endorsements.
